Your next great challenge awaits! Leidos' Defense Systems Hypersonics Systems Division is excited to invite a Project Manager to lead the developmental phase of the next iteration of the Common Hypersonic Glide Body. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership by managing all program functions related to the transition to production. Your responsibilities will include planning, tracking, and executing complex tasks within technical, schedule, and budget constraints. The program incorporates cutting-edge technologies, both structural and electrical, still in the early stages of technical and manufacturing readiness. You will closely coordinate with diverse design teams and our government customers to create an efficient path to rapidly mature and integrate new capabilities. This role involves managing complexities stemming from a group of subcontracted team members, collaborating with multiple government organizations as part of a badge-less team, and coordinating across various geographical locations. You will also engage with a complex multi-agency customer set, including Lawrence Livermore National Labs, Sandia National Labs, Navy, and Army. If this dynamic environment resonates with you, read on! Your Responsibilities: Manage the development of a program baseline to transition a developmental design to a product-ready state for low-rate production. Coordinate closely with government and industry partners to ensure effective handoffs and meet program needs. Support daily execution activities in line with the program manager's objectives. Lead team meetings, setting clear expectations and fostering collaboration. Continuously assess program health using technical and programmatic metrics for successful execution. Identify and manage risks at the IPT level, working with the team to develop mitigation strategies and leverage opportunities. Analyze capability and process gaps, providing actionable improvement recommendations. Engage in change management, including creating business cases for IPT-recommended changes, evaluating supply chain vulnerabilities, and implementing approved changes. Facilitate coordination of program activities across multiple functional areas. Promote effective intra-project communication and collaboration. Assist the program manager in mitigating design, schedule, and technical risks related to program materials. Plan and manage hardware-centric projects, developing comprehensive project plans. Define tasks, required resources, and maintain project objectives. Assemble and oversee the project team, collaborating with program schedulers to sustain timelines. Oversee technical scope and control account budgets and schedules, performing variance and schedule analyses. Generate timely Estimated to Completes (ETC) and manage the release of work authorizations to team members. Prepare and manage informational products to support various program reviews and meetings. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent with 12-15 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 10-13 years of experience. Strong technical background in complex integrated aerospace systems, with at least 5 years managing testing, planning, and scheduling for technical programs. A proactive and self-motivated approach to problem resolution, especially in ambiguous situations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience transitioning between early-stage hardware development and mature product definitions. Familiarity with TDP generation (MIL-STD-31000). Experience with multi-year development/production programs exceeding $100M. Background in Flight Programs (Missile, Space Launch, or Rocket systems). Expertise in cost estimating and budget management. Experience leading large, diverse teams, including suppliers and subcontractors. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint. Project management certification (PMP) is desirable. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
