Purpose Statement Home infusion therapy (HIT) is a revolutionary approach that allows patients to receive infusion therapy in the comfort of their own home, as well as in nursing homes and outpatient clinics. This flexibility empowers patients to take control of their care. The Infusion Therapy Nurse plays a vital role in providing outstanding patient care. This specialized position focuses on delivering high-quality treatments to adult patients. As an Infusion Therapy Nurse, you'll be responsible for administering a variety of infusion therapies including IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacements, clotting factors, and more, using various delivery methods. This role demands a unique combination of clinical expertise and a compassionate touch. This position reports to the Area Director of Infusion Services. Required Education and Experience Current and valid RN license. A minimum of 3 years nursing experience. Exceptional IV skills and a genuine passion for patient care. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a home care environment. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation. Candidates should possess excellent IV skills and enjoy patient interaction. Successful applicants will build a steady caseload with grateful and satisfied patients. Preferred background in critical care settings. At least 1 year of experience in infusion therapy, with home infusion experience being a plus. Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI) is advantageous. Preferred knowledge in pediatrics and adult medical care. Responsibilities Administer infusion therapies as per physician orders and established protocols, including IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacements, and clotting factors. Continuously assess and monitor patients during infusion therapy to ensure safety and effectiveness. Educate patients and their families on procedures, potential side effects, and self-care practices related to infusion therapy. Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement tailored patient care plans. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, addressing both physical and psychosocial factors to customize care. Document all patient care activities, treatment plans, and outcomes promptly and accurately. Engage in continuous professional development to remain updated on industry best practices, guidelines, and trends. Perform other duties as assigned.
