This position is located in the Production Support Services section. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following: Overseeing the state’s capital construction program Working to provide state and federal grants for community development Development of the state budget Providing technology services Giving agencies guidance in the state purchasing and contracting process as they seek goods and services Administering a program that provides federal funds to help Louisiana residents recover from a series of devastating hurricanes Minimum QualificationsNo experience or training is required.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundhere (.Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties: Demonstrates advanced expertise in modifying JCL, parameter files, processing dates, and file configurations to ensure accurate and efficient daily batch production across multiple job scheduling platforms; validates and reviews setup work to maintain operational integrity. Leads the configuration and optimization of new and existing jobs within enterprise job scheduler systems, proactively monitoring and resolving scheduling conflicts in collaboration with console operations, application development, and database teams. Serves as a technical lead for batch scheduling operations, providing guidance to production control staff, supporting procedural documentation updates, and assisting with training to promote operational excellence. Analyzes nightly batch processing results, identifies failures, and partners with application programmers and database administrators to troubleshoot issues and coordinate timely job reprocessing. Ensures quality assurance of system-generated output by reviewing reports for accuracy and guiding corrective actions to maintain high standards of data integrity. Manages secure intake and upload of data files for state agencies, federal partners, and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with established data handling protocols. Oversees rotation and maintenance of tape backup media across multiple systems to safeguard critical data and support disaster recovery readiness. Maintains and updates daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual job scheduler calendars to support accurate production timelines and business continuity. Supports special projects, system analyses, operational studies, and process improvement initiatives to enhance statewide IT operations. Actively engages in professional development to expand technical knowledge, strengthen system expertise, and stay current with evolving enterprise technologies.
