A skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technician opportunity is available on a contract basis in Monroe, NC. This role focuses on providing specialized support in cardiothoracic, vascular, and thoracic surgeries in a busy surgical suite. The position is perfect for surgical technologists with solid OR experience seeking to strengthen their expertise in complex CVOR cases. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain sterile fields during cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries including CABG, TAVR, vascular bypasses, and robotic procedures Assist surgeons and nurses by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs Support postoperative room turnover and equipment sterilization Collaborate closely with anesthesia, nursing, and support staff to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow Utilize EMR systems for documentation and coordinate with medication dispensing and monitoring equipment Desired Experience and Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech education program Minimum of 2 years OR experience, preferably in CVOR or related specialties Strong recent experience with cardiothoracic, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases National certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred Current BLS certification required Ability to work 12-hour day shifts with occasional call, weekend, and holiday rotations Familiarity with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication systems, and monitoring tools Location Overview: Monroe, NC, offers a welcoming community with convenient access to metropolitan amenities while retaining its small-town charm.
