Job Details Position: Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) Location: Durham, NC 27710 - Durham healthcare / North Carolina nuclear medicine jobs Assignment Type: Travel Setting: Hospital - Nuclear Medicine Department (Radiology / Nuclear Medicine) Start Date: March 23, 2026 (April 6 starts considered) End Date: September 21, 2026 Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (8-hour days) Hours per Week: 40 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,190 - $2,360 per week Patient Population: Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics Scrubs: Wine or maroon colored Orientation: 40 hours Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions) Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) - experience with PET/CT and SPECT preferred Certification: ARRT(N) or NMTCB required Active BLS certification (American Heart Association) Experience with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) required for charting and documentation Previous travel assignment experience required (travel technologist / travel healthcare jobs) Compact license or North Carolina (NC) license in hand at time of application One supervisory reference from the past year Flu vaccine required (no exemptions or declinations accepted) Ability to start and maintain IVs and handle/dispose of radioactive materials safely (radiation safety practices) Proficiency with procedures such as PET Scan, HIDA Scan, Gastric Emptying, Renal/Perfusion, Ventilation/Perfusion, and Whole Body studies Experience with GE and Siemens nuclear medicine equipment preferred Trauma Level I experience preferred Responsibilities Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients with attention to quality and safety Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment (GE, Siemens) and follow manufacturer and departmental protocols Start and maintain IVs as needed for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials and adhere to radiation safety regulations Utilize EPIC for accurate charting, imaging orders, and documentation (EHR proficiency) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiologists, technologists, and patient care staff to deliver coordinated care Provide compassionate patient care, clear communication, and education to patients and families Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing training modules as required Take the next step in your nuclear medicine career and join a dynamic hospital team in Durham, NC.
