A full-time 1:1 Pediatric Registered Nurse position is available to provide dedicated nursing support for a medically fragile student in a school setting located in Franklin Park, IL. This role involves riding the morning bus with the student and offering comprehensive care throughout the school day, including supporting classroom academics as needed. The assignment is contracted through May 22, 2026. Location: Franklin Park, IL Setting: K-8 School environment Schedule: Full-Time Key Responsibilities: Provide skilled nursing care for a medically fragile pediatric student, including ventilator and trach management Ride the morning bus with the student (approximately 5-10 minute commute) to offer continuous care Perform suctioning, bagging, and troubleshooting of ventilator alarms Manage feeding via GT tube using enteral pumps and maintain proper hydration flushes Assist with student positioning, transfers, incontinence management, and skin integrity checks Support the student in the classroom setting as needed, aiding with academic participation Adhere to emergency response protocols promptly and effectively Handle equipment setup, maintenance, and connections related to respiratory and feeding devices Qualifications: Active, state-issued Registered Nurse license Professional Educator License (PEL) with an appropriate endorsement issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Demonstrated expertise in pediatric ventilator care, trach care, emergency response, and enteral feeding management Ability to manage and adapt to school-based nursing duties effectively Additional Information: Candidates must be on-site; virtual presentations are not permitted Professional documentation including resume, GM worksheet, and presentation materials will be required upon submission This opportunity allows a dedicated pediatric nurse to directly impact the health, safety, and academic access of a student with complex medical needs.
