The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality nursing care to residents in stable and predictable conditions at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home, in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act.Join our dedicated team in serving those who served!Minimum QualificationsPossession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundhere.Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:As an LPN, you will implement selective aspects of the nursing care plan, i.e., comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, etc., under progressively more generalized supervision from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.In this role, you will also: Observes residents for changes in physical status, mental status, or behavior and reports significant changes. Prepares and administers medication and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures. Transcribe physicians' orders and record medication and the patient's condition in the medical records. Apply dressings, ointments, and other treatments as ordered and documents the procedure.
