As a Lead Power Systems Engineer, you'll engage in various aspects of electrical engineering, focusing on the design of complex power systems, service observation, construction, and power system analyses. We have multiple openings for experienced Electrical Engineers, especially in the areas of Design and Power Systems Analysis. This position will support federal projects, necessitating U.S. Citizenship. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and guide power system analysis projects within CDM Smith's electrical team. Serve as the technical expert in power system analysis, assisting in design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving initiatives. Act independently on technical matters related to electrical design and analysis, serving as a liaison across various teams. Lead multiple tasks and projects, taking on a primary role as the electrical lead or project manager. Support business development efforts requiring high-level technical expertise. Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth within the team. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Professional Engineering (PE) license. A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirements. Some domestic and/or international travel may be necessary, based on project needs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with power systems for water, wastewater, industrial, federal, and transit facilities. Familiarity with industry standards and codes (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, UFC, etc.). Published work in IEEE Journals or technical publications is a plus. Expertise in power system planning and analysis. Knowledge in distributed generation, alternative energy, and microgrid systems. Proficiency in medium voltage distribution systems including substations and standby generation. Experienced with SKM PowerTools and ETAP; knowledge of other analysis software (Easypower, EDSA/Paladin, Cyme, Milsoft) is advantageous. Why Choose CDM Smith? Pay Range: $134,264 - $248,394 Additional Compensation: Bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may vary based on performance.
