Achieving sustained leadership requires architectural thinking that spans hardware, compiler, runtime, and application layers. We are seeking a Senior Performance Architect to define and drive cross-architecture performance strategy for AI workloads on AMD GPU platforms. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for shaping long-term performance architecture and influencing both software and hardware direction. THE PERSON: The Senior Performance Architect will: Define end-to-end performance strategy across GPU generations Shape abstraction layers for performance portability Guide kernel and compiler optimization direction Influence hardware-software co-design decisions This role requires exceptional performance intuition and cross-stack expertise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Cross-Architecture Strategy Define optimization principles that span GPU generations Identify architectural invariants and portability constraints Evaluate tradeoffs between peak performance and maintainability Kernel & Compiler Co-Design Guide kernel tiling, scheduling, and memory strategies Influence compiler scheduling and code generation decisions Analyze ISA-level behavior and performance implications Abstraction & Systems Design Architect performance-aware abstraction layers Ensure clean separation of architecture-dependent components Drive long-term maintainability of performance-critical systems Technical Leadership Lead architectural design reviews Mentor performance engineers Represent AMD in high-level technical discussions Performance Modeling & Prediction Build mental and quantitative performance models Predict workload scaling behavior Identify bottlenecks before profiling PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience in GPU performance optimization Strong understanding of GPU microarchitecture Experience working with compiler toolchains (LLVM or similar) Proven track record of architectural decision-making Strong C++ background Experience spanning multiple GPU generations Experience contributing to GPU compiler infrastructure Experience with AI workload optimization at scale Open-source or industry thought leadership contributions ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. #LI-JG1 This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
