Orientation & Training Overview: TMC offers an orientation and training program tailored just for you! With nearly 30 years of experience training apprentice drivers, we stand out as one of the best. Our student driver training program is also a certified Heavy Truck Driver Apprenticeship program approved by the Department of Labor! Apprentice drivers receive $650 per week during orientation and over-the-road training with one of our certified flatbed driver trainers. We value your home time, so we make every effort to assign you to a trainer located within 150 miles of your home. Orientation lasts two weeks at our training facilities located in Des Moines, Iowa, or Columbia, South Carolina, followed by five weeks of OTR training. For those with an Automatic Transmission restriction on their Class A CDL, training lasts 4 weeks. Many first-year drivers are successfully earning up to $100,000 per year!
