A healthcare facility in Willits, CA seeks a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide essential respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients. This contract position involves performing both basic and critical respiratory therapies per physician orders, adhering to department protocols, and documenting all treatments accurately. Responsibilities include administering aerosol and oxygen therapy, drawing arterial blood gases, ventilator care, pulmonary function testing, and assisting with cardio respiratory rehabilitation efforts. The role also involves supervising new employees, assisting with equipment maintenance, supporting physicians during bronchoscopies, and ensuring compliance with ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention bundles. Clear and timely communication of patient status and therapy outcomes is critical. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required (CA state) CPR or BLS certification required; ACLS certification required for ICU/ED settings Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred and/or required depending on the unit Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certifications preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred Ability to work independently and supervise others as needed Competency in electronic medical records and medical documentation Location: Willits, California, is a charming small town nestled in a region known for its rich arts scene, scenic vineyards, and abundant natural beauty.
