QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a System Configuration Manager (Hardware & Software) Specialist to join our team at APG, MD to support our customer, Project Manager Intelligence Systems & Analytics (PM IS&A), TITAN, a state-of-the-art, AI-enabled ground station for the U.S. Army. Duties: Establish and lead the configuration management (CM) program for the U.S. Army's Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) system. Provide rigorous CM to manage its complex and deeply integrated hardware, software, and firmware baselines through the entire program lifecycle, fundamental to maintaining the integrity of the TITAN system. Implement and enforce disciplined CM processes to ensure all changes are systematically identified, evaluated, and documented, guaranteeing that the deployed system is always in a known and approved state. CM Program & Plan Development: Develop, implement, and maintain the program's Configuration Management Plan (CMP), detailing unified processes for managing the complete system baseline (hardware, software, firmware, and documentation). Configuration Identification (CI): Lead the identification and documentation of all Hardware CIs (HWCI) and Computer Software CIs (CSCI). Establish and control the system's Functional, Allocated, and Product Baselines. Integrated Change Control: Manage a single, integrated change control process. Facilitate the Configuration Control Board (CCB), ensuring every change request is evaluated for its full system-level impact across both hardware and software. Software CM & Build Management: Oversee the version control of all software source code, build scripts, and deployment packages. Ensure all software builds are repeatable, documented, and traceable to the approved baseline. Configuration Status Accounting: Maintain a precise repository that accounts for the status of all CIs. Generate reports that provide a holistic view of the current system configuration, including software versions and hardware part numbers. Configuration Audits: Plan and lead Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) to verify that the as-built system (both hardware and loaded software) conforms to its approved documentation. CM Repository & Tools: Manage and administer the program's CM tool suite, ensuring it can manage and relate hardware parts lists, software repositories (e.g., Git), and all associated documentation. Required Skills & Experience: Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills. Direct experience in design, integration, configuration, and analysis of complex software systems, military electronics, computer networking, and digital and graphic display systems (hardware systems). Preferred: In-depth knowledge of configuration management principles and standards, such as EIA-649 and MIL-HDBK-61. Demonstrated experience managing a formal CCB process and processing ECPs for both hardware and software changes. Proficiency with industry-standard CM and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools. Direct experience with software version control systems (e.g., Git) and build management in an Agile or DevOps environment. Familiarity with the TITAN program or similar complex C5ISR / AI-enabled systems. Professional certification in Configuration Management (e.g., NDIA certified Configuration and Data Manager, CMII certification). Required Clearance: ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret w/SCI eligibility Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Electrical, Electronic, System, Software or Computer Engineering; Computer Science or related field. A minimum of fifteen (15) years of related work experience is required, to include: At least ten (10) years of experience related to software configuration management, process development and management. At least eight (8) years of experience managing and/or directing a software configuration management team. Master's degree may substitute three (3) years of experience. Travel: Less than 10% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations. Work Environment: This position will be co-located with the customer and other contractors in Government office spaces. Our total compensation package is value-based and negotiable depending upon the candidate's specific skills and applicable relevant experience.
