Job Responsibilities: Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work Follow all quality standards and operating requirements/perform quality checks to ensure the final unit is delivered as per requirements to WIP or Customer: Ensure correct order quantities Count and verify unit and inch counts of units. Ensure neat stacking and if there are discrepancies restack units Eliminate off quality sheets and inform the tower operator to make up Ensure proper load tags are in each unit/correct measurement Auditing quality and unit accuracy on the WIP lines Work with a sense of urgency to ensure no line backups and machine shutdowns. Maintain sufficient levels of top dunnage and bottom inserts and follow quality check to avoid jams Maintain sufficient levels of strapping and change strap heads when necessary Perform daily cleaning ofstrapping heads Locate and add proper dunnage to protect customer products and load tags per customer specs Utilizecarts,conveying equipment,labelerand scanners Utilize Kiwi and other systems to ensure information is documented and instructions and line-ups are followed Add special protective devices on corners or top as specified in customer instructions Utilize all automatic features of the strapping system and understand how toutilizeall features Maintain inventories of dunnage invarious sizes, tapes, loadtagsand banding reels Capable to safety clear jams, remedy rethreads and load new strap reels Capable of operating equipment manually Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot issues that arise Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment. Monitor the quality of output from the machine, resolve anyissuesandadvisesupervision if incapable of resolving the issues Operate Slitter Performs various housekeeping, cleaning, and organizing functions with minimal supervision to ensure areas are clean and free from debris. Perform alladditionalduties as assigned by management and be prepared toassistall jobs on the plant floor Additional Requirements: Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality Physical Requirements: Required regularly to stand forlong periodsof time, and squat while lifting occasionally. Required to squat while lifting and flip sheets to restack units (up to 30lbs for a period up to 12 hours) Required to move safely while claiming steps Required to bend over and lift sheets from the bridge and from the platform Requires good vision (foroperatingPITs, using traffic mirrors and stopsigns. Required continuous mental and visual attention (to keepproduct moving in the supply chain whilemaintainingaccurateinventory transactions involving diversified work requiring constant alertness oractivity. Required Experience: Education and Experience: A strong desireto learn and excel in fast-paced manufacturing Preferred candidates will have prior work experience in the corrugated industry Punctuality and a commitment to regular and predictable attendance Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others Dedication to always wearing safety gear Availability for overtime as needed Skills: Reading and Communication: Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical: Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. Technical: Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities for efficient operation. Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DEQ, EEO, and company policies.
