Job Title: Shop Helper Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Shop Helper to assist with various tasks in the shop, including hammering duct work, insulating curves and ducts, bending metal, and fabricating ducts according to blueprints. This role also involves supporting welders and machinists, and other shop duties as assigned. Candidates should be comfortable working in an insulation room and getting their hands dirty. They should be proactive in keeping the workspace clean during downtime.Responsibilities Assist with hammering duct work and insulating curves and ducts. Bend metal and fabricate ducts following blueprints. Support welders and machinists by tacking sheet-metal together. Perform general shop duties as required. Maintain cleanliness of the work area during downtime. Essential Skills Prior experience in sheet-metal or duct work. Mechanically inclined with strong mechanical aptitude. Skills in metal bending, metalworking, and blueprint interpretation. Ability to fabricate sheet metal and assist with welding and HVAC tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience or relevant schooling is highly advantageous. Customer service skills. Ability to drive small trucks. The shop can be cold in winter and hot in summer, and it's typically loud and dirty. Candidates should bring their own steel-toed boots and basic hand tools if available. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional overtime as needed.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
