What You'll Be Doing: Serve as a technical subject matter expert for grid interconnection activities with Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) such as PJM, MISO, and NYISO. Lead the development, management, and implementation of Grid Interconnection Agreements (GIAs) and interim deliverability agreements. Analyze RTO study results and provide guidance on grid reinforcement, congestion, and interconnection limitations. Advise leadership on short- and long-term grid implications, including risk, schedule, and cost considerations. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure compliance with interconnection processes and procedures. Conduct independent research, reviews, and technical studies to support grid interconnection objectives. Utilize power grid modeling and simulation tools (e.g., PSSE) to evaluate and support interconnection strategies. Maintain awareness of NERC, FERC, and RTO requirements, ensuring all activities align with regulatory standards. Perform other duties as assigned, including support for outage activities or special projects. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree a plus. Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience in power systems or grid interconnection. Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including project or inspection leadership. Strong knowledge of power grid interconnection, power flow, grid congestion, and reinforcement processes. Familiarity with NERC, FERC, and RTO regulations and standards. Experience with grid modeling software (e.g., PSSE) required. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on, highly technical, and collaborative environment.
