Position Type: Transportation/Substitute Bus Driver Date Posted: 10/8/2024 Location: Transportation Offices Date Available: 08/26/2014 Description:This employee will perform as a bus driver, safely transporting student from home to school to home, on field trips and perform a variety of clerical duties associated with Transportation operations.Job Summary: maintain route schedule supervise students who ride the bus; maintain discipline and report undisciplined students to the principal/s discharge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized students assist student passengers with school baggage as needed regulate heating and ventilating systems for passenger comfort comply with local traffic regulations and observe all mandatory safety regulations report delays or accidents clean the interior of the bus regularly inspect bus and check gas, oil, water, brakes, etc., before departure and report any needed repairs Qualifications: general knowledge of routine maintenance requirements of buses ability to work independently with minimum supervisions on the job and route are learned be at least 18 years of age with at least six (6) months driving experience with a valid operator's license possess a valid driver's license have or obtain the required Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with "P" and "S" endorsements have no STOP entry appearing on driving record have and maintain a good driving record Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to site; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; use feet and legs to operate vehicle pedals; drive/ride the vehicle; and talk or hear. The employee must have full range of vision. On occasion the employee is required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste or smell.
