MillwrightDepartment: Manufacturing & Distribution - Skilled Jobs Employment Type: Full Time Location: Columbia, PA - Plant Reporting To: Tim Schechterly Compensation: $36.93 / hour Description The following is a list of general responsibilities and skills necessary to perform the duties of the (Journeyperson Millwright) classification (labor grade (9): Key ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision, will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner Diagnostic and repair tools and equipment used in dissembling, repairing and installing mechanical equipment Common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning Responsible for varied types of motors and their operation Working with the Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems Analyze mechanical problems, organize assigned maintenance and repair work, and develop effective work methods Rebuild and install new and/or rebuilt assemblies in equipment Weld broken parts, burn and fabricate Reading and interpreting maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseSkills Required: The ability to cut with a torch Welding experience Fabricating experience Trouble shooting pneumatic and hydraulics Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to complete assignments/projects through to completion The ability to work with different tools such as grinders, drills/hand and presses Can identify bearings Know and understand metric for measuring Being able to read a tape measure Ability to work independently Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership Benefits Starting pay rate $36.93. $2.00 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
