Job Description

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Respiratory Therapist providing essential respiratory care services during night shifts on a PRN basis. This role involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered respiratory therapy under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients. Job Summary Plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapy treatments, collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient outcomes. Maintain efficient operations and a positive work environment while supporting the organization's mission and values. Key Responsibilities Provide timely and compassionate respiratory care, assessing patient needs and interpreting test results to develop treatment plans. Administer medically prescribed therapies such as inhalants, mechanical ventilation, and bronchopulmonary drainage. Monitor patient responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood gas analysis, adjusting treatments as necessary. Supervise respiratory therapy aides and technicians, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment. Participate in discharge planning and educate patients, families, and caregivers on home respiratory care and equipment. Contribute to policy development, protocol implementation, and staff training initiatives. Engage in teamwork, maintain professional relationships, and foster a respectful and supportive work environment. Education and Experience Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience. Licenses and Certifications Current unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license for the state of Washington. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required at hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within one year. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical practices. Ability to assess and tailor treatments across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients. Proficiency with respiratory therapy equipment and technology, including electronic medical records. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs frequently, with occasional lifting above 35 lbs. Tasks include standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment safely. Work Environment This position offers 10-hour night shifts on a PRN basis within a supportive healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest region, known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities.
