This role is responsible for providing leadership support during night shifts, ensuring optimal patient care and efficient staff coordination. You'll work under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Director, or Executive Director to uphold the highest standards of nursing practice and operational excellence. Job specification Candidate requirements Job specification Oversee and coordinate SICU activities to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care. Lead and supervise clinical staff during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards. Act as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, assisting in performance evaluations and education. Promote a positive and collaborative unit environment to enhance patient outcomes and staff satisfaction. Ensure compliance with the ANA Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice. Assist with staffing, patient assignments, and problem-solving in real-time. Support departmental leadership in operational planning, patient safety, and quality initiatives. Candidate requirements Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Active California Registered Nurse License upon hire. National Provider BLS Certification (American Heart Association) upon hire. At least 2 years of recent clinical experience in a SICU or similar speciality area. Prior Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse experience. One professional certification in a related area upon hire. Preferred Master's Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
