As a member of the Conference Services team this role will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and flawless execution of corporate and social events. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments, ensuring all event details are executed to the highest service standards. The Conference Assistant Manager oversees logistics from initial planning through post-event. Follow-up while delivering exceptional guest experiences. What you will be doing: Serve as a primary point of contact for conferences, meetings & social events from event contracting through post-event follow-up. Manage / Supervise all aspects of events, including the room setup, AV, décor placement, catering and guest service. Work cohesively with the culinary, banquets, front office, and the operational team to deliver a seamless experience. Drive revenue and exceed goals through upsells in banquets food & beverage to assigned groups. Forecast food & beverage events for assigned groups. Provide excellent customer service and manage customer expectations. Build and maintain a strong relationship with clients, understanding their needs and working with them through execution of their event. Maintain budgets, communicating to clients about estimated expenses. Prepare and distribute event documents, such as Banquet Event Orders, Diagrams, Resume, and post-event reports. Conduct pre-conference meetings and post-event meetings. Lead Planning Site Visits. Leads with honesty and transparency. What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree in hospitality preferred with a minimum of two years' experience in conference/event planning or a related field. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as knowledge of Delphi software and SocialTables preferred. Ability to directly supervise 1 employee (conference assistant). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Physicality: Involves standing/walking for long periods, with occasional lifting/moving of tables, chairs, and equipment up to 35 lbs. Schedule & Hours: Schedule & Hours: Managers frequently work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate event schedules. Working more than 40 hours per week is common during peak conference seasons.
