Position Overview The Assistant Controller - Financial Reporting is a key leadership role within the Finance organization responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. Reporting to the Controller, this position oversees the general ledger and financial close processes while supporting strong internal controls, financial reporting integrity, and continuous process improvement. As a finance leader, the Assistant Controller - Financial Reporting exercises independent judgment in interpreting accounting standards, evaluating financial data, and resolving complex accounting matters. This role manages and develops accounting staff, partners with cross-functional stakeholders, and advises leadership on financial reporting outcomes, operational efficiencies, and accounting best practices. Skills & Core Strengths U.S. GAAP and financial reporting expertise General ledger and financial close leadership Internal controls design and compliance Financial statement preparation and analysis Accounting operations management Team leadership and staff development Process improvement and automation initiatives Financial systems and technology optimization Root cause analysis and problem resolution KPI development and performance monitoring Cross-functional collaboration Executive communication and reporting Analytical thinking and sound professional judgment What You'll Do Direct and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close processes Ensure financial reporting accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies Manage, coach, and develop accounting staff to support strong accounting practices and professional growth Design, monitor, and manage team KPIs supporting general ledger, reporting, and tax-related activities Oversee preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues and close exceptions, identifying root causes and corrective actions Ensure compliance with company tax reporting requirements and financial filing obligations Partner with internal stakeholders to meet financial reporting and operational needs Provide clear and timely financial reporting and insights to leadership and financial statement users Leverage financial systems and technology to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting operations Support additional initiatives and projects as directed by the Controller or CFO What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of general ledger and financial close processes Prior experience managing and developing accounting staff Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Experience improving accounting processes and leveraging financial systems and technology Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage competing priorities Preferred Qualifications CPA or CMA certification Experience supporting tax compliance and reporting activities Experience driving accounting process improvements or system enhancements About Us Avidex is a leading player in the audiovisual and IT integration industry, delivering cutting-edge solutions to a diverse range of clients.
