Job details: Position: Orthopedic Tech Profession: Surgical Services Location: Beverly Hills, CA 90211 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Shift time: 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00) Guaranteed hours: 40 hours/week Job description: This position does NOT include surgeries. It is primarily outpatient procedures and casting. Please read job duties below REQUIRED:HSD/GED1 year of experience in an outpatient settingProficiency in plaster and fiberglass casting and splinting Preferred:Registered Ortho Tech (ASOP) Job Duties: 1. Apply and remove a variety of splints, plaster, and fiberglass casts, and request x-rays as indicated under the direction of a physician 2. Perform special procedures like windowing and wedging, and assist in complex procedures like pin removal and application of traction. 3. Responsible for inventory, ordering, and receiving of all casting supplies and equipment. 4. Set up exam and procedure room based on patient visit needs. 5. Positions the patient for the procedure and notes the degree of discomfort experienced by the patient. Explains procedure to patient using clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practice. 6. Instruct patient in cast care, wound care, swelling, and how to remove and apply splints. 7. Set up and prepare injectable trays and medications as per provider orders. Record information in medical records as needed
