Estimator - Heavy Civil Projects / Infrastructure A leading heavy civil contractor is on the lookout for a talented Estimator to enhance their preconstruction and bidding efforts for major infrastructure projects. In this crucial role, you will create in-depth cost estimates that encompass materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions. The Estimator will work closely with project teams, engineers, suppliers, and owners throughout the pre-bid process. Key Areas of Expertise Earthwork Roadway construction Utilities (waterline, storm, sanitary sewer) Concrete flatwork Concrete structures Deep foundations Primary Responsibilities Thoroughly review drawings, specifications, and proposals to understand project requirements. Conduct precise takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment. Develop detailed cost breakdowns and bid items. Evaluate labor, production rates, subcontractor quotes, and market pricing. Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive and timely quotes. Identify project risks and take part in internal bid reviews. Prepare complete bid packages and assist in preconstruction planning. Build strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Mathematics, or a related field. 2+ years of relevant experience in estimating or construction. Strong understanding of heavy civil construction principles and project sequencing. Preferable experience with HCSS Heavy Bid. Proficient in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office applications. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Adept at interpreting plans, specifications, and proposals. Valid driver's license is required.
