Water/Wastewater Construction Inspector

RK&K is looking for a skilled Construction Inspector with experience in water/wastewater utility projects or a strong background in infrastructure construction. This position offers the chance to apply your expertise on exciting construction sites while collaborating as part of a dedicated team. As a Construction Inspector, you will work independently at project locations while maintaining close communication with project managers, engineers, and construction leaders. Your role will focus on various infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. Essential Functions Conduct thorough inspections of water/wastewater and stormwater utility construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and codes. Inspect roadway infrastructure projects, including earthwork, asphalt, concrete, and drainage, to verify adherence to project specifications. Provide field engineering and construction management support services, assisting with submittals, document interpretation, and change orders. Ensure construction quality by monitoring workmanship and materials, ensuring they meet established industry standards. Document all inspection activities meticulously by creating daily reports and maintaining organized field files. Coordinate material testing to verify compliance with project specifications and oversee field measurements for contract documentation. Assist in project closeout activities, including punch list preparation and final inspection reports. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams to foster a collaborative work environment. Required Skills and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 to 3 years of experience in construction administration and inspection for water and wastewater facilities or related infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering reports. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Proficiency in organizing and presenting construction documentation effectively. Knowledge of building codes and contractor pricing strategies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Project, and Excel, as well as tablet-based PDF tools. A valid Driver License and a clean driving record are necessary. Preferred Skills and Experience An Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, engineering, or a related construction field. Possession of relevant construction certifications, including Florida Department of Transportation CTQP certifications.
