Main Responsibilities: Perform functions to review customer specifications and evaluate manufacturing feasibility requests Determine product and material dispositions including product downgrade or re-allocation. Perform product and process validations for metallurgical processes as required by API and customer specifications. Defines thermal processing parameters for all metallurgical processes ranging from ERW welding to heat treatment. Monitors heat treatment performance and associated process capabilities for issues and collaborates with Heat Treatment Manager to improve processes. Performs failure analysis of products and materials. Develops testing plans and coordinates with outside laboratories to execute required product testing Develops and issues product performance documentation for tubular products and connection Actively communicate the need for continuous quality improvement throughout the workforce. Participate in the development of new product, manufacturing processes and quality system improvements. Coordinate semi-premium connection testing and manufacturing trials (plan-execution-analysis) and reportresults. Evaluate Quality performance of Heat Treatment and Threading Lines. Assist on the definition of testing and inspection plans. Any other duties as assigned Qualifications (change as needed) Must have a B.S. or equivalent in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related discipline. Must have college-level course work or work experience in technical writing. Basic ability to use business computer systems and perform statistical analysis using Minitab or other software is highly preferred. Mechanical testing of materials (Tensile, Hardness, Charpy Impact, Spectrometry, etc.) Problem solving and quality improvement processes techniques are preferred.
