Providing specialized respiratory care, this role focuses on delivering intensive treatments and patient transport within medical guidelines and professional standards. Operating with minimal supervision, the respiratory clinician evaluates patient conditions, creates treatment plans, and educates patients about their therapies. Key responsibilities include administering physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using a variety of ventilatory, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices. Tasks also involve chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, and reviewing chest X-rays to assess patient needs. The therapist performs 12-lead EKGs, arrhythmia recognition, pulmonary function studies, and assists with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement. Additional duties encompass tracheostomy care, arterial punctures, medication administration, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS and ACLS), mechanical ventilation setup and monitoring, and maintenance of respiratory equipment. Accurate and thorough documentation of treatments, patient responses, and communications with medical staff is essential. Qualifications & Desired Experience: Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure required Proficiency in invasive and non-invasive ventilation techniques Skilled in 12-lead EKG and pulmonary function testing Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment operation and maintenance Experience performing arterial punctures and cardiopulmonary resuscitation Effective communication skills with interdisciplinary teams Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Location: This opportunity is based in New Berlin, WI, a vibrant suburban community known for its excellent quality of life.
