Mechanical Engineer

Job Type Full-time Description Position Summary: JGMS is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our project team and support on-site construction projects. This position will provide support, oversight, and consult for a a variety of construction projects. Qualified candidates will have a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and five to 10 or more years of relevant experience. Work will be performed on-site with the opportunity for some telework. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and define project scope with sponsors Work with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors Requirements Required Qualifications: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and five to 10 or more years of experience performing mechanical engineering tasks including development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates Working knowledge of building codes and standards. Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections, etc.) Desired Qualifications: EIT certificate and/or P.E. license Engineering consulting experience Working knowledge of ASME codes Working knowledge of HVAC systems Security Clearance: The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L Security Clearance is required.
