Vice President of Electric Utility Operations About the Company A globally respected electric utility company Industry Utilities Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is looking for an innovative and strategic Vice President of Electric Utility Operations to guide an enterprise-wide energy team. The role requires a dynamic leader to integrate cutting-edge transmission solutions to facilitate large-scale data center expansions across the Americas. In this exciting position, the VP will oversee a talented and growing team while partnering closely with various internal departments. There will also be opportunities to engage with external stakeholders such as utilities, RTOs/ISOs, and regulatory bodies to effectively address transmission challenges and secure the infrastructure necessary for future growth. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, directing consultant efforts, and delivering regular updates to senior executives and the Board regarding risks, opportunities, and capital planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Systems; an advanced degree or MBA is a plus. Applicants should bring a minimum of 15 years of experience in electric power transmission or energy, coupled with strong leadership skills and experience managing multi-region portfolios. A thorough understanding of power flow modeling and interconnection processes is essential, along with a proven track record of successful collaboration with external entities on transmission and interconnection challenges. The perfect candidate will also have executive-level financial and strategic expertise, exceptional leadership qualities, and the ability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
