Position Summary: The Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, overhauling, adjusting, and repairing refrigeration equipment on commercial trucks and trailers, focusing on the maintenance of refrigeration units. Position Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair refrigeration units on trucks and trailers. Perform diagnostics using electronic test equipment and onboard computers. Support recruitment efforts by engaging with partner universities to attract candidates. Conduct preventive maintenance and component replacement for refrigeration equipment. Review shop orders for maintaining refrigeration units and APU on trucks. Repair issues, including Freon leak testing and assembling refrigeration parts. Install new refrigeration units on trailers, trucks, and vans. Complete other related tasks as required. Note: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment. Violators may be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years working with Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration units. 608 certification is required. Must possess specialized training and experience in refrigeration component overhaul. Skills: Proficiency in using necessary tools for refrigeration work, physical ability to move frequently and lift up to 50lbs regularly (and 100lbs occasionally), and willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Additional: Strong verbal and written communication skills; must own personal tools.
