Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Title Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Location Springfield, IL Schedule / Job Type Full-time, 3x12-hour day shifts Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy medical-surgical unit. Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care activities accurately. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Recognize and respond to patient emergencies, escalating as needed. Manage and maintain IV therapies, including port and central line care, and administer chemotherapy per protocol. Ensure safety and compliance with all hospital policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Active Illinois RN license in hand or in application process. Minimum of 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience. Experience with IV therapy and infusion skills, including port access and medication administration. Ability to work 12-hour day shifts comfortably. Basic life support (BLS) certification. Preferred Experience / Skills Oncology experience, including chemotherapy administration. Chemotherapy certification (preferred but not required). OCN and ONS/ONCC certification (preferred). Strong charting experience with Cerner system.
