What You Will Do As a key member of Teradata's Product Engineering leadership team, you will spearhead the development of next-generation agentic architecture for AI within our data and analytics platform. Your influence will be vital in shaping Teradata's approach to delivering intelligent, scalable, and secure AI capabilities, intricately woven into our hybrid cloud environment. In your role, you will: Architect Teradata's foundational AI strategy, advancing capabilities for agentic AI, GenAI, and sophisticated analytics on the Teradata VantageCloud platform. Design scalable, efficient AI-centric architectures utilizing open table formats (Iceberg, Delta), query engines (Trino, Presto, Spark), and event streaming (Kafka, Pulsar). Seamlessly integrate AI into Teradata's products, including orchestration, context management, and long-lasting workflows using frameworks like LangChain and Semantic Kernel and connectors to Amazon Bedrock and Azure OpenAI. Establish reusable patterns for embedding AI/ML inference into customer-facing applications, emphasizing reliability, explainability, and governance. Modernize our platform through microservices, Kubernetes-native deployments, observability, and API-first integration, ensuring our AI services are secure, compliant, and enterprise-ready. Advocate for responsible AI by developing governance frameworks that uphold fairness, transparency, and trust in AI-driven analytics. Guide architectural reviews and strategic alignment across engineering teams to foster consistency, scalability, and innovation. Who You Will Work With This position reports directly to the SVP of Product Engineering, AI, Analytics, Apps, and UX, collaborating extensively across the Teradata ecosystem. You will: Influence and guide engineering, design, and data science teams regarding AI architecture and delivery strategies. Collaborate with the Office of the CTO on innovation, research, and the development of future technology roadmaps. Work alongside Infrastructure and Security Engineering to ensure our AI services meet the performance and security demands of enterprise environments. Engage with customers, partners, and go-to-market teams to gain insights into enterprise AI use cases and shape Teradata's AI product roadmap. Team up with R&D and innovation units to assess emerging AI technologies, conduct proof-of-concepts, and confirm enterprise applicability. What Makes You a Qualified Candidate You possess a unique combination of deep technical expertise, system-wide thinking, and strategic leadership. 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, distributed systems, or large-scale analytics platforms. Demonstrated success in integrating AI and ML into enterprise-grade products at scale. Expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, including secure integration with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong grasp of agentic AI architectures, orchestration frameworks, and generative AI integration. A proven track record in building production-grade AI/ML inference pipelines with an emphasis on governance and monitoring. Knowledge of open data formats, contemporary query engines, real-time streaming, and enterprise APIs. Experience transitioning platforms from monolithic to microservices with Kubernetes-based deployment. A master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (PhD preferred). Pay Rate: 239500.0000 - 299300.0000 - 359200.0000 Annually Salary for the successful candidate will consider geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Sales roles will be eligible for commission related to quota achievement. Other permanent roles will be part of our annual incentive plans, contingent on company performance and individual contributions.
