Job Description: The Quality Inspector is responsible for programming and performing inspections using advanced measurement systems and tools. The role involves interpreting part drawings, executing first article and production inspections, supporting quality assurance audits, and maintaining documentation in accordance with internal and industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with CMM/IMM/laser scanning equipment, and possesses strong problem-solving and communication skills. Responsibilities: Interpret part drawings per ASME Y14.5 and convert specifications into inspection programs. Perform receiving, first article, and PPAP inspections using appropriate sampling plans. Conduct gage R&R and capability studies and present findings. Maintain inspection records using enterprise software applications. Perform internal product and system audits per ISO 9001 standards. Create and manage quality documentation such as Work Instructions and Quality Alerts. Support product sorting based on internal or external customer requests Record, investigate, and communicate inspection, test, and quality data accurately. Apply root cause analysis techniques (e.g., Pareto, 5Why) to support continuous improvement. Maintain workspace organization per 5S standards and perform safety inspections. Actively participate in cross-functional quality initiatives. Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines. Complete all assigned training by required deadlines. Skills: Strong mathematical skills for measuring and interpreting data (xx, ratio, percent, bar graphs). Experience with SPC, process capability, and productivity tools (Lean preferred). Preferred: Ability to program CMMs, IMMs, or laser scanners (Polyworks) Proficiency with advanced measurement systems such as optical comparators, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, hardness testers, and laser-based tools. Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and standards Proficient in technical writing and presenting quality findings to various stakeholders. Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills in standardized and variable scenarios. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional, proactive, and self-motivated. Qualification And Education: High school diploma or GED required. Formal training or demonstrated proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T Third-party certification (e.g., CCT, CQE, CQT) preferred. Resume detailing education, certifications, and relevant work experience required. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to walk, talk, evaluate visually, and hear. Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Frequent use of hands for handling and feeling.
