Material Coordinator

Material CoordinatorLocation: San Diego, CA (and Kearney Mesa) Work Type: Onsite Employment Type: 3-month Temp-to-Hire Pay Rate: $21-27/hr Position Summary The Senior Material Coordinator will be focused on inventory management and warehousing operations, while also supporting basic manufacturing and assembly operations for a med device company. This role involves receiving, inspecting, and staging materials, fulfilling sales orders, and assisting with production tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and strong organizational skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Inspection Unload and receive incoming materialsOperate warehouse equipment safelyValidate stock locationsInspect materials for defectsDocument results in ERP and QMS systems Inventory Management Perform routine inventory countsMonitor stock levels and resolve discrepanciesMaintain accurate records in ERP and inventory systems Kitting & Material Preparation Pick, stage, and validate components for production according to work ordersEnsure accuracy and readiness for assembly Manufacturing & Assembly Assemble medical devices and components per detailed instructions and SOPsAccurately document production activities Packaging & Fulfillment Support packaging, labeling, and shipping operationsEnsure quality standards are met and outbound orders are fulfilled accurately and on time Requirements Required experience working in a regulated environment within either pharmaceutical or medical device3 to 5 years of relevent experience. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and SOPsBasic understanding of quality control principles and ERP systemsUnderstanding of material flow processes with the ability to help define and improve themAn understanding of traceability and quality requirements is requiredSome quality assurance responsibilitiesProficient with Microsoft Office and inventory softwareStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience with ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory requirementsExperience with inbound inspection and document control activitiesFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiativesKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Strong attention to detail; prior lead or promotional experience is highly desirable Working Conditions Full-time, hourly, on-site positionAbility to stand, walk, and move within the production area for long periodsComfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperaturesMay be required to lift items weighing up to 30 lbsWarehouse environment is small with high ceilings; materials are handled using extension ladders, material lifts, and pallet jacks Estimated Min Rate: $18.90 Estimated Max Rate: $27.00What's In It for You?
