The Cloud Infrastructure Technician role involves expert hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participation in an on-call rotation. AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the team that keeps the cloud running. Our work supports all AWS data centers and includes servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure customers have continuous access to the innovation they depend on. You will collaborate with a diverse group of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other integral roles within AWS. Note: A lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position. Key responsibilities include: Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that affect service availability. Acting as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Participating in on-call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues. Assisting in the interviewing, training, and onboarding of new team members. Physical Requirements: Lifting and moving materials up to 40 pounds. Working in cramped and/or elevated locations. Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching. Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day. Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely. Working in an industrial environment. Working shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts). This role supports data centers at various operational stages. You may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational. Essential Requirements: Ability to travel or commute between data center locations as needed. Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until your assigned facility is operational. Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of your assigned facility. A day in the life of a Cloud Infrastructure Technician involves: Taking ownership of technical issues raised by customers, engaging other teams when needed for resolution. Exhibiting strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Identifying root causes of problems and understanding the broader context. Maintaining service level agreements by implementing proactive issue detection and reporting. Taking initiative in the absence of direction or support. Basic Qualifications: Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays. 18+ months of experience in computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT fields. 18+ months of experience in computer layer 1/2 networking (including troubleshooting and repair). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a data center or critical environment. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional/military experience in an IT-related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering). Industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+). Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems. Experience with behavioral interviewing and hiring. Experience training and onboarding new team members. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Salary Range: 30.00 - 54.00 USD per hour - USA, OH, Dublin; Hilliard; Jeffersonville; New Albany; Plain City.
