BMDACC is the third partner member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network® and the Southeastern United States u2019 patient care hub serving the institution u2019s international program to elevate the quality of cancer care nationally and internationally. BMDACC brings an unprecedented level of coordinated multidisciplinary oncology care to Northeast Florida with a community-focused regionally-expanding patient care network. BMDACC provides physicians the benefit of an academically oriented model through the clinically-integrated collaboration of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the Baptist Health System - Northeast Florida u2019s most preferred healthcare provider Our new 9-story, 330,000 square foot Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center incorporates state-of-the-art design, construction, technology, and art to create a patient-centered facility dedicated solely to providing the full spectrum of oncology care in a healing environment for our patients and their families. The selected physician will join a uniquely specialized, multidisciplinary team integrating surgery, medical and radiation oncology, pathology, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation, genetic counseling, speech pathology, psychology, dedicated patient-care nurse navigators and wellness/survivorship programs. Have completed an accredited fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery with Free-Flap Reconstruction, and/or additional experience in skull base procedures; Display the communication, interpersonal skills, collaboration, and passion required to build an active clinical practice, develop areas of productive scholarship, and recruit additional faculty; Be recommended for Adjunct Appointment at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center commensurate with their clinical and academic achievements. Collaborate in national initiatives and scholarly activities with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and its Department of Head and Neck Surgery; and Influence the future direction of our program and join like-minded faculty committed to our mission of Making Cancer History! To meet the needs of patients and families, the program has grown to include over 50 physicians (including 22 surgeons) and 700 team members to provide prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and wellness/survivorship services in one location. In-patient care is provided on the same campus at the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, a 500-bed tertiary hospital. BMDACC has quickly grown to become one of the larger cancer programs in Florida - ranking 4th for new cancer patients (Florida Trend January 2024) - meeting the needs of this community and beyond.
