About the job Senior Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler Senior Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler (Municipal Utilities)Location: Mid-Atlantic | Experience:8-10+ Years Industry: Civil Engineering | Water & Wastewater Utilities Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler to join our growing municipal engineering practice. This role focuses exclusively on hydraulic modeling of sanitary sewer collection systems and potable water distribution systems for municipal and utility clients. Ideal for a career-minded engineer ready to lead projects, mentor teams, and support capital improvement and rehabilitation planning. This is not a floodplain, coastal, FEMA, or dam safety modeling role. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute hydraulic modeling projects for municipal water and wastewater conveyance systems Build, calibrate, analyze, and document models for sanitary sewer and water distribution systems Support master planning, capacity assessments, rehabilitation planning, and CIP development Manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and task-level project execution Coordinate and mentor modeling teams; perform QA/QC reviews Prepare technical reports, calculations, and client deliverables Collaborate with Project Managers, subconsultants, and internal disciplines Participate in client meetings and provide technical consultation Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET-accredited) 8-10+ years of experience in municipal water/wastewater hydraulic modeling Proven experience with sanitary sewer collection and potable water distribution systems Proficiency with InfoWorks, WaterGEMS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, KY Pipe, EPA-SWMM, or similar Strong skills in hydraulic design, sewer rehabilitation, engineering economics, and report writing Proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent communication and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) License Experience working with county or state municipal clients, preferably in the Mid-Atlantic Experience leading or mentoring hydraulic modeling teams Why Join Us 100% Employee-Owned (ESOP) Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with Traditional & Roth options Paid time off, holidays, and caregiver leave Career development and advancement opportunities
