Pharmacy Technician I - Lincoln On Call Days

RESPONSIBILITIES:Under immediate pharmacist verification, the Pharmacy Technician I performs all technical functions required for packaging, labeling, charging, preparation, computer input and delivering of medications according to established operational definitions of the department and facility, based on requirements of the Nebraska Board of Pharmacy.Compile and document patient data to assist with billing procedures and the updating of medication administration records.Compile patient data to insure departmental compliance with state and federal regulations in the day-to-day activities of the department, including clerical maintenance of patient profiles and records, and compilation of patient monitoring criteria to assist in assuring safe medication delivery.Compile and compare data to assist with inventory maintenance including daily inventory re-order functions and fiscal year-end inventory process.Communicate (speak) to patients and/or their families making verbal offers of counseling on behalf of the pharmacist, if applicable.Set up medication as prescribed utilizing packaging system specific to each nursing area. This process may involve clerical interpretation of physician order, ability to calculate by ratio or proportion and knowledge of metric/standard measurement conversions.Handle inventory insuring accurate, timely dispensing of medications as prescribed by physician.Handle inventory through delivery of filled medication orders/prescriptions to nursing areas.QUALIFICATIONS:High School graduate or equivalentMust be registered by the State of Nebraska as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern, or eligible for immediate registration prior to start date. Current CPHT Certification required, or must obtain CPHT certification within 1 year of initial registration with NE DHHS.One year experience in hospital pharmacy settingwith experience in IV admixture, unit dose system, and computer applications preferred. _Madonna provides a professional work environment free from discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment.
