Job Description: Client: Large Public Accounting Firm Title: Global Trade Advisory Contractor (ITAR, EAR, and OFAC Sanctions) Pay: $135-$175 per hour (W2), depending on experience Location: Remote (United States) Duration: 6+month Contract (Extension Possible) Engagement Overview A Large Public Accounting firm is seeking a senior-level Tax Contractor (6-month engagement) to support complex global trade advisory projects focused on ITAR, EAR, and OFAC sanctions compliance. This contractor will provide specialized regulatory expertise to the firm's project teams and client stakeholders, helping organizations strengthen export controls compliance programs, manage regulatory risk, and optimize governance frameworks within highly technical and globally distributed environments. This is a high-visibility engagement requiring strong executive presence, technical depth, and the ability to lead workstreams independently. Scope of Services Export Controls & Sanctions Advisory Provide subject matter expertise in ITAR and EAR, including: Jurisdiction and classification analysis Licensing and license exception reviews End-use and end-user assessments Technical data and technology controls Recordkeeping requirements Advise on intersections with OFAC sanctions Interpret and apply regulatory guidance in real-world operating environments Compliance Program Enhancement Conduct export controls and sanctions risk assessments Design or enhance compliance frameworks, including: Policies and procedures Internal controls Monitoring and testing programs Training materials Remediation roadmaps Support trade automation / GTM enablement including screening workflows, classification governance, and licensing controls Technology, Data & Sovereignty Advisory Advise on export-controlled technology challenges in global engineering environments Support ERP and cloud governance design considerations: Access controls and privilege models Logging and auditability Data residency configurations Data tagging/marking frameworks Assess deemed export risks tied to remote support and cross-border collaboration Project & Stakeholder Leadership Lead advisory engagements end-to-end: Scoping and work planning Governance design Budget oversight Stakeholder coordination across Legal, Compliance, Engineering, IT, and Security Facilitate executive workshops and deliver decision-oriented readouts Present findings to C-suite and operational leadership teams Quality Assurance & Technical Rigor Perform rigorous QA on regulatory analyses and client deliverables Ensure technical defensibility, completeness, and client-ready clarity Establish structured review templates and quality gates Monitor regulatory developments and provide strategic updates Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in ITAR and EAR advisory Working knowledge of OFAC sanctions Demonstrated experience leading export controls/sanctions projects Executive-level communication skills Deep familiarity with Technology, Media & Telecommunications operating models Experience with global trade management (GTM) systems and compliance automation Ability to work independently while leading project teams
