Job Description

An opportunity exists for a skilled Respiratory Therapist with Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification in Detroit, MI, offering a contract role that supports critical patient care across intensive and general practice units. This position involves delivering life-support, resuscitation, and respiratory therapies under the guidance of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor. Key Responsibilities: Provide invasive and non-invasive respiratory diagnostic procedures. Administer medical gas therapies and monitor patients with varying needs, including ICU care (up to 6 beds) and treatment areas (1 to 20 patients). Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare teams, and physicians to ensure optimal respiratory care. Document patient care accurately and complete billing information. Supervise and mentor Respiratory Therapists, externs, and students as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. Current Michigan State Respiratory Therapist license. Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. NICU experience is preferred. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Work 3 days per week.
