About this Job: MedStar Health is seeking an enthusiastic Acute Care Occupational Therapist to become part of our dedicated team! The Acute Care Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services. This includes screening and evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and meticulous documentation. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will participate in program development and assist in achieving our established goals. You will provide therapy services that include treatment, training, and equipment recommendations, under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Primary Duties: Conduct thorough evaluations by reviewing relevant patient history, performing assessments, and documenting findings. Clearly communicate evaluation results and treatment plans to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in goal setting. Effectively implement treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, adapting to the patient’s needs and the evolving healthcare environment. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed and document any significant changes in the patient’s condition. Oversee discharge planning and follow-up care while ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities. This includes maintaining clear records of the patient’s progress, treatment goals, and discharge evaluations. Enhance your time management skills to meet productivity expectations, maintain an accurate schedule, and ensure seamless patient access to care. Demonstrate flexibility and empathy in a patient-centered environment. Proactively pursue continuing education to enhance professional growth and serve as a mentor and clinical instructor for new staff, students, and volunteers. Qualifications: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Licensed to practice in Maryland, Washington D.C., and/or Virginia as required for your practice location. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year.
