Key Responsibilities Inspect, recondition, and repair vehicles to ensure CarMax customers can drive away feeling safe and secure Collaborate with teammates to solve technical challenges efficiently Gain valuable experience as an automotive mechanic working on a variety of domestic and foreign vehicles Adhere to and promote our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization Join a team that prioritizes customers and their cars Working at CarMax is fast-paced and motivating. Qualifications and Requirements Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, heating, and air conditioning Knowledge of health and safety compliance Physical stamina for lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment Strong communication skills and attention to detail Valid driver's license ASE Certifications are required where mandated by State/Local law In California, Certified Technicians must hold ASE Certifications in Engine Repair, Steering and Suspension, Brakes, and Heating Air Conditioning. Master Certified Technicians must also hold certifications in Transmission/Transaxle, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Electrical, and Engine Performance.
