As a Patient Care Nurse, you will be essential in delivering exceptional healthcare services to our patients. Your duties will include interpreting and executing physician orders, assessing patient needs, and utilizing your clinical expertise to ensure the best possible care. You will be a key member of our healthcare team, showcasing initiative while upholding confidentiality and adapting to the evolving needs of our health center. Your leadership will significantly enhance our patient-centered approach and foster effective teamwork. Prepare and maintain confidential patient medical records, ensuring accuracy in chart processing and filing. Document patient registrations, medical records, lab results, and treatments with precision. Respond to calls and inquiries regarding patient care with professionalism and nursing judgment. Utilize electronic patient information systems and practice management software effectively. Assist patients with necessary forms and provide unbiased information regarding pregnancy options and contraception. Stay informed on family planning services, offering accurate information on abortion services and birth control methods. Conduct thorough reviews of patient medical histories. Deliver essential patient education, including guidance on medications for prescribed treatments. Administer and document medications (oral, vaginal, buccal, injectable) while ensuring proper labeling. Provide both physical and emotional support to patients during examinations and procedures. Follow up with patients on abnormal test results and referrals, keeping detailed records. Coordinate with Centralized Follow Up on notifications related to abnormal tests and other educational needs. Conduct routine lab tests and nursing evaluations, including taking vital signs. Ensure cleanliness and organization within lab, recovery, and examination areas. Perform prescribed invasive procedures such as injections, TB testing, and venipuncture. Consult with clinicians regarding any patient care issues. Carry out limited pelvic ultrasounds as necessary for gestational assessments and procedural support. Administer IV medications and fluids, monitoring patient stability closely. Conduct nursing assessments during the administration of moderate conscious sedation. Implement safety protocols during sedation procedures and prepare for potential complications. Recognize and handle emergency situations, following appropriate protocols. Monitor patients during recovery, ensuring they meet discharge criteria. Triage calls from patients and staff in accordance with established protocols and document follow-up actions promptly. Participate in after-hours emergency call triage and adhere to documentation procedures. Engage in risk and quality management activities, including audits and incident reporting. Support the Primary Care and Family Planning team with patient education and follow-up communications. Delegate nursing tasks to LPN/LVN and Health Care Assistants as appropriate. Act as a resource for physicians regarding Planned Parenthood policies. Maintain ACLS certification and comply with ongoing training requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. CPR/BLS certification. Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience. Preference for candidates with ambulatory surgical experience. Able to work efficiently and flexibly in a customer-focused environment. Compensation: $44 - $53 per hour
