Job Description We are looking for a Plant Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below. Our client is seeking a hands-on Plant Controller to lead all financial operations for a manufacturing facility. This hybrid role in Cleveland, OH requires strong analytical skills, manufacturing finance expertise, and the ability to partner closely with plant leadership to drive performance, financial discipline, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead all plant-level accounting and financial activities, including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis. Manage standard costing, cost rolls, BOM and routing accuracy, labor/overhead allocation, and inventory valuation. Oversee month-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and plant P&L performance. Analyze production results, scrap, yields, costing trends, absorption, and operational KPIs; communicate drivers to leadership. Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain leaders to improve cost control, efficiency, and profitability. Manage physical inventory, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives. Provide leadership and development to plant-level finance staff (analysts, cost accountants, etc.). Support capital investment analysis, ROI modeling, make-vs-buy decisions, and cost-to-serve assessments. Ensure internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness at the plant level. Drive process improvements, automation, and financial systems enhancements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in manufacturing, including cost accounting. Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing KPIs. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar. Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to partner across plant operations.
