Join Taft as a motivated and collaborative Conflicts Management Specialist! This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals with over 2 years of experience in a conflicts department within a mid to large-sized law firm. This role can be performed in any of our offices located in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, or Minneapolis. The Conflicts Management Specialist is essential in managing all aspects of the conflicts process. You will prepare comprehensive conflicts search reports, identify potential ethical conflicts, and address business concerns for new and lateral matters. Our mission is to uphold the firm's ethical standards while providing exceptional service to our clients and attorneys. Duties & Responsibilities: Review and analyze conflicts search results for new business and lateral hires, identifying potential issues and strategizing resolutions. Collaborate effectively with Conflicts Counsel, General Counsel, firm attorneys, and the conflicts team to resolve conflicts promptly. Assist new attorneys in the transition of lateral clients and matters, including drafting engagement letters and managing conflict waivers. Draft and circulate ethical screen memorandums, establish new ethical walls, and maintain existing walls using firm software. Identify opportunities to streamline processes for enhanced efficiency and reduced risks. Support the training and development of team members in the department. Contribute to comprehensive reviews and reconciliation of the firm's client/matter information and conflicts database. Provide high-quality customer service to legal assistants and firm attorneys. Be prepared to travel within the U.S. to other offices as needed. Be available to work remotely outside of regular business hours when necessary. Requirements: Experience with Intapp is highly preferred. Proficiency in managing multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. Strong critical thinking and decision-making capabilities. Exceptional problem-solving and time management skills. A proactive attitude with the flexibility to adapt to workflow changes. Excellent teamwork abilities. Meticulous attention to detail, along with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Adept at simplifying complex issues for clear understanding across all firm levels. A Juris Doctor degree is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a conflicts department of a mid to large-sized law firm is essential. A solid understanding of professional responsibility and legal ethics related to conflicts is necessary. Taft is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
