As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will partner with nature to enhance the health, safety, and productivity of agriculture. In this role, you will promote natural solutions such as macro-biologicals, micro-biologicals, and native pollinators, while adding value through your technical expertise by developing tailored programs for clients and advocating for Koppert products as the primary defense for crop protection. You will be responsible for developing territory, managing sales, and providing exceptional service across our product lines. This position requires you to reside in the Central Valley area and travel to nearby counties (Kern, Kings, Tulare, Fresno, Merced, Stanislaus, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara) to foster client relationships. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Successful performance of this position requires the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Advise growers on sustainable practices including crop protection and natural pollination using Koppert's extensive portfolio of natural products. Develop and uphold markets in outdoor crops by visiting customers, participating in trade shows, and generating leads. Strengthen customer relationships to thoroughly understand grower needs and devise agronomic strategies for your territory. Advance grower success in crop protection by developing and implementing customized integrated pest management (IPM) and pollination strategies. Meet sales targets and maintain accurate forecasting within your territory. Possess knowledge of key crops such as berries, vineyards, citrus, avocado, and field vegetables in California. Identify and pursue new agricultural market opportunities. Utilize all available Koppert resources to convert prospects into loyal customers. Actively participate in the creation and launch of new innovations within the Koppert portfolio. Skills and Qualifications A strong passion for integrated pest management strategies in agriculture. A proven record in successful territory development and sales growth. Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation, collaboration, and a solution-oriented approach. Aptitude for listening, asking insightful questions, and building trust with customers and colleagues. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, working independently with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to write both technically and commercially. Collaboration skills to work effectively with other Koppert departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Education and Experience BA/BS in agriculture is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in agriculture as a grower or sales consultant. Agricultural Pest Control Advisor license with CDPR (PCA) is a plus but not required. Working Conditions Ability to work autonomously and commit to business travel (25%). Work remotely from home, hotels, and a company vehicle. Frequent commercial travel to meet customers, attend trade shows, and participate in company meetings. Regular exposure to field conditions and varying weather in California's agricultural landscape. Regular encounters with bumble bees and other insects. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Capacity to sit for long periods during travel. Ability to endure long periods of field visits. Willingness to travel via air and ground. Flexibility to adapt to diverse environments during customer visits and high-paced activities.
