Job Description Are you ready to lead a dynamic engineering team focused on delivering innovative Network Operating System (NOS) features? Join us and take charge of all aspects from design and implementation to testing and operations. What You'll Do: Lead a talented team of 6-12 engineers through the complete delivery lifecycle of NOS features, ensuring quality and efficiency. Translate product vision and architectural goals into actionable backlogs and milestones to ensure predictable delivery. Conduct thorough design reviews to ensure correctness, performance, and operability within the system architecture. Champion operational excellence by establishing SLOs/error budgets, implementing canaries, and leading effective incident responses. Foster a culture of feedback; hire, onboard, and coach engineers while setting clear expectations for performance. Collaborate cross-functionally with Networking, Compute, Security, and SRE teams to manage dependencies and align on critical metrics. Ensure secure development practices are followed, including signed artifacts and comprehensive change control. Scope and Ownership: You will own specific domains within the NOS, focusing on execution excellence and team leadership. Work closely with senior architects to align on strategy while concentrating on team health and local technical guidance. Basic Qualifications: 6+ years of experience in systems or networking software, with at least 2 years in engineering management. Proven experience in delivering production features related to Linux kernel networking, user-space datapath, or telemetry. Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices, including feature flags and metrics-driven releases. Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to hiring and developing diverse teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective cross-team collaboration. Preferred Qualifications: Deep knowledge in areas such as eBPF, DPDK, or networking protocols. Proven track record of improving system reliability and performance through targeted initiatives. Experience leading postmortem processes to extract learnings and enhance development mechanisms. Familiarity with secure development lifecycles and compliance practices. Experience in cloud-scale environments is highly desirable. Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may need to comply with specific health mandates. Compensation Information: The hiring range for this position is $118,300 to $251,600 per annum, with potential eligibility for bonuses and equity.
