We are searching for a detail-oriented candidate with experience in avionics systems and software development. This position requires a daily on-site presence at NAVAIR Station Pax River in St. Mary's County, MD. Travel: NA Clearance: An Interim Secret Clearance is mandatory for this role. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for accessing classified information. US Citizenship is necessary to obtain a clearance. Requirements: Candidates should have a minimum of two years' experience: Developing software in C++ Working in a Linux environment Using tools like Jira and Confluence Employing Git, Bitbucket, or Mattermost for version control Performing unit testing Communicating effectively with software program leaders, engineers, and stakeholders Managing software engineering and development efforts Interpreting software requirements, design, process management, open architecture principles, integration, and testing Responsibilities: Develop code supporting aircraft system software Interface with personnel from Naval Air Station Patuxent River and other government entities involved in the program Conduct technical reviews to assess software changes Provide technical advice on issues Oversee research, analysis, design, development, testing, and manufacturing activities Monitor Program Increment (PI) priority workloads Review and provide input on proposed software process and development changes Work collaboratively as part of an integrated team Preferred Skills and Experience: Ideal candidates will have: Experience with Cameo and DOORS Familiarity with RHEL 9 or 10 Knowledge of AIDA Understanding of Weapon System Open Architecture (WOSA) and MIL-STD-1553 Experience with Agile development methodologies Education: BS in an Engineering Field (Preferred: Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Research) Compensation: At SimVentions, compensation is based on various factors including experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, and knowledge.
