Utility Location Specialist

Job Title: Utility Location Specialist Work Location: Atlanta, GA Salary: Commensurate with experience; details will be discussed during the interview. Duties/Responsibilities: Expertly and safely identify underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, and water services. Conduct diligent searches in designated areas, ensuring all utility locations are marked clearly while completing comprehensive documentation and capturing photographic evidence. Effectively interpret utility plans, profiles, cross sections, and relevant records. Collect data and produce detailed field sketches for accurate reporting. Engage in various departmental projects and assist as needed. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. 1-3 years of experience in utility locating or similar roles using diverse locating technologies. Background in Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is a valuable plus. Experience working with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is essential. A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required. Physical Requirements: Must be agile and mobile in construction environments and willing to engage in field assignments. Ability to carry essential instruments and equipment is needed. Capability to lift and transport loads up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other regulations, including meeting productivity standards.
