Join our team as a Management Liability Underwriting Specialist! Zurich is actively seeking a talented Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter to focus on Management Liability. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic role, either remotely within the U.S. or at one of our offices in Baltimore, Maryland, Owings Mills, or Washington DC. You will leverage your analytical, sales, and relationship-building skills to assess and underwrite new and renewal business for our Financial Lines Products, which include Directors and Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and Crime Insurance. Your Role: As a Management Liability Underwriter, you'll be at the forefront of our market-facing endeavors. We are on the lookout for someone with a robust sales mindset who actively seeks new and renewal account opportunities and identifies growth potential. Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with retail distributors (agents and brokers) is vital to ensure business retention and to successfully acquire new clients. Key Responsibilities: Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with Line of Business representatives and address other business-related needs. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) for effective business retention and acquisition. Support our sales culture by acting as a resource for agents, brokers, and customers. Proactively seek opportunities for account renewal and new business. Conduct comprehensive assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities. Evaluate accounts to align with organizational appetite and sound business prospects. Participate in broker/customer site visits with strategic preparation. Mentor and support team members. This position can be filled at either the Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, depending on your skills and experience. Basic Qualifications: Underwriting Specialist: High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing areas, OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support areas, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 1+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing areas, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 4+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support AND Knowledge of relevant lines of business and applicable regulations. Familiarity with time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Executive Underwriter: High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing areas, OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support areas, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing areas, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 8+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support AND Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience working within time constraints for new and renewal business quotes. A proven record of successful collaboration in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong relationship-building abilities. Compensation: The pay range for this role varies based on experience and location, ranging from $75,000 to $165,000, plus potential bonuses.
