DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS AND ENGINEERING UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS-HOUSTON OPEN RANK - ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING The University of St. Thomas (UST)-Houston, a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, invites applications from outstanding candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track (NTT) position in electrical engineering.Position Summary: The Department of Physics and Engineering at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in electrical engineering. We seek candidates passionate about teaching and hands-on education with a strong experimental research and teaching background in electrical engineering who are enthusiastic about mentoring undergraduate students and supporting applied learning.Key Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in electrical engineeringDevelop, update, and manage laboratory curricula and experimentsSupervise undergraduate student projects and capstone design experiencesCollaborate with faculty on curriculum development and program assessmentEngage in professional development and/or applied research related to experimental electrical engineering education.Provide academic advising and mentoring to students as neededService activities as needed by the department and the universityDeveloping a research program involving and suited for undergraduate student participation Qualifications:Required: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. Demonstrated teaching, mentoring, and research experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to the mission of the University of St. Thomas. Preferred: Industry or academic experience in any of the following areas: communication systems, electronic systems design and manufacturing, electrical generation, transmission and distribution systems, control of industrial and robotic systems.Familiarity with industrial safety practices, compliance, and/or risk engineering is a plus. Prior experience in curriculum or lab development at the university level. PE license for electrical engineer.
